Personality:
All Tau, from the youngest point in their life, are taught that they should all work towards the “Greater Good”. It is a philosophy that advocates the sacrifice of the individual for the sake of the whole and every person, no matter how important they are to society, is equal to any other person. Kais, throughout his whole life, struggles with this goal. He sincerely wants to believe in it but cannot grasp what his place in society should be. This is further complicated when many Tau are sacrificed to rescue one Ethereal and Kais begins to doubt everything he previously knew.
On top of all this, Kais is burdened with daddy issues since his father was a great General and Kais could barely get adequate scores as a mere recruit. After years of training to become a Fire Warrior, his dad came to review his progress and expressed his disappointment in Kais' lack of ability and his lack of faith in the Greater Good. Before that could be resolved, his father died during a mission, leaving Kais trying to fit into his father's shoes for the rest of his life.
As a Tau proper, Kais is far more expressive and emotional than the rest of his race. Tau lack many facial expressions but it is easy for his counterparts to pick out what he's feeling since he enters into such extremes. Anger is one emotion Kais experiences on a regular basis and during battle, he finds himself killing for the sake of killing. Other Tau start to refer to him as the Mont'au, or “the terror”, due to his blood-soaked appearance after a fight. He relishes in shooting others in close range and having their blood splatter over him.
Because of his successes, he thinks of himself as a one man army and doesn't do well with superiors. He has an especially bad habit of volunteering himself for missions that are well over his authority level. On top of that, he abandons those he's with because he thinks he can complete the mission better without the others holding him back. Despite this being a trait caused by his victories in battle, it still spawns from the fact that he was a rebel his entire life, not finding where he fit into the Greater Good philosophy.
The fact that he disagrees with said philosophy doesn't mean it still isn't a driving force for him. Due to his need to find his place in it, his part as a gear in the machine as a whole, he never stops. Even though he has the hardest missions and he sincerely hates being stuck with them, he continues simply because he wants to be a part of it. He wants to belong with everyone else. That and his superior, Lusha, is the nearest person he wants to please. What Lusha says, Kais believes as fact. Not only has Lusha fought alongside Kais' father but he has been Kais' teacher from the time Kais joined a Fire Warrior Cadre. If one person has been the ideal father figure to Kais, it is most certainly Lusha and Kais is extremely reliant on him.
There are many things that are unknown to Kais. One such thing that will confront him in the game is being around all those who he considers aliens (AKA: everyone that is not Tau). Tau are taught that all alien races are welcome into their Empire and should not be feared or treated badly unless the same is done to them. He will most likely be reluctant around others, scared, and possibly disgusted but would be polite and act within bounds of tolerance. The fear of sparking some type of incident would keep things BY THE BOOK with Kais.
Kais will also respond very strongly to authority. He is but a lowly soldier and is easily ordered around by those who have a commanding presence. This leaves him to be easily manipulated by those around him, even if they are not his superior officers. He showed this in canon when he worked with a Space Marine Captain and blindly did what the man said despite some of the orders seeming like suicide missions.
Overall, Kais is a very conflicted character who seeks order in his life while only seeing chaos. While he is generally a loner, solid friends would help him build a solid base to start from. Or villains who would seek to abuse his naivety and need for order would cause him to fall even further down the put of despair. Either way, it's clear he wants one thing, to be sure of himself and those around him.

Canon Powers:
Kais has no real 'powers'. In fact, he is a bit weaker in comparison to normal humans. But, as a Tau, he does have a resistance to magic and sorcery that influence the mind and emotion. In canon, it's shown that when spells of those types are cast at Tau, all they hear is static. This is most likely due to the fact that Tau are genetically engineered to emotionally respond to the Ethereals only so no other race could usurp the Tau from the Ethereals.
He is also subconsciously imprinted with knowledge that makes him unusually flexible when it comes to dealing with unknown technology. This is given to all Fire Warriors so they can operate enemy equipment on the battlefield and hack into/use enemy technology. The same knowledge also gives him the know how to make basic repairs on his weapons and armor.
Canon Weapons|Items:
For starters, Kais has his armor, which makes him look much like a robot when his helmet is on. The armor itself is rated to block bullets and merely ablate laser fire so it isn't super protective. Melee attacks, on the other hand, are devastating against Tau armor. The main purpose for the armor is target acquisition, accurate fire from weapons, and different vision modes so the Fire Warrior can still see, regardless of the situation.
The final item is a pulse rifle. Science aside, it'll deal Pierce damage as it's rating in canon against armor is pretty good.
Canon Allies:
Kais comes with a Shield Drone which projects a shield that works much like shields in Halo do. Continuous fire drains the energy and knocks out the shield, whereupon it must recharge.
In game terms, it can absorb 2 Physical type attacks before needing a couple turns to recharge. All other attack types bypass said shield.
I include this in the ally section because it makes a little more sense here despite it being equipment as it has its own AI that can be commanded by Kais.
